Kraegarym Thrak'Na Frigate...
As the physically strongest race in known space- stronger than even the Ahruga- and having an aggressive conquest-hungry warrior culture, the Kraegarym are understandably feared by every neighboring race around them. Kraegarym culture is based around a rough code of honor combined with a might-makes-right philosophy that only the strong should rule, and the weak serve them. Needless to say, as they began expanding out into space they immediately set about trying to conquer every race they encountered.
Kraegarym military technology is comparable in efficacy to Terran standard, though with a paradigm closer to Freeman or Ahrugan concepts of preferring super-heavy armour and firepower over extensive ECM/ECCM and stealth. Their technology base, however, is very different, based more on crystal manipulation and the channeling of energy through sculpted crystal matrices. Nowhere is this most blatant than in the structure and appearance of Kraegarym warships.
The Thrak’Na (“Piercer”) frigate is typical of such vessels, and is one of the most commonly-seen Kraegarym marauders. Capable of going toe-to-toe with any Terran warship in the same category, her design is so unique that inexperienced captains will often get caught off their guard. The spiky protrusions along the hull are not, as those same inexperienced captains often think, decoration. They are, instead, potent light plasma projection cannons that channel from fusion cores deep within the vessel and accelerate them along an EM pathway thousands of kilometers in length. While shorter range than even PPCs, these plasma cannons have a high cyclic rate of fire and phenomenal punch for their size.
The large protrusion “wings” are T-rad venting ailerons that end in heavy plasma projector spikes. These powerful weapons can gut many warships in a single barrage if the Thrak’Na gets close enough. Not wanting to be one-trick ponies, the Kraegarym also integrated other non-indigenous weapon systems into their ship designs. In the Thrak’Na, four heavy APPC spinals reverse engineered from stolen Terran technology. Additionally, the Kraegarym developed antimatter missiles based off of Terran ASMs that they can deploy as a shock tactic.
Kraegarym tactics are pretty straightforward- close with the enemy using the APPCs at range, then unleash a merciless barrage with the plasma weapons. Kraegarym have precisely zero interest in battlefield salvage or prisoners, and thus warmly embrace the concept of overkill. It is a commonly known fact that Kraegarym warships come out of hyperspace shooting, and don’t stop until destroyed or everything else is dead.
