Pirates often rely on heavily-modified commercial transports or freighters as their primary motherships and heavy marauders. This is an example of a heavily-modified Boeing 7007 Passenger Liner that has been retrofitted into a flying reactor-and-weapons platform. While underpowered (only the medium turrets can manage burst fire) and thin-skinned, she has one hell of a punch and is still a threat to commercial ships, and that’s before she launches her small raider craft.
Pirate motherships like this one often carry a dozen or more modified Goshawk marauders in the hanger bays, as well as salvage drones and rigs to recover cargo from vessels they’ve raided. Reaper-class marauders can dock with the mothership to offload prisoners and cargo, as well as to give the crew some R&R.
Pirate motherships have accommodations on par with the raunchier trade orbitals, complete with bars, brothels, drug dens, etc. Unfortunately for privateers, there are often dozens- if not hundreds- of civilians aboard, mostly women pressed into service in the brothels or captured for the Khurian slave market. The Barbary Bastards do not do either of these activities, but they do take prisoners for ransom. This necessitates disabling and boarding rather than outright destruction, a difficult task at best.

I know what you mean. Although I tend to chicken out for fear of ruining things. You don't have that problem though. Great job as always!
