That being said, the Orion Imperial Navy utilizes a type of fighter-bomber designed to carry ASMs (Anti-Ship Missiles, the second most powerful missile in naval arsenals that carries a quarter-ton of antimatter (roughly 10 gigatons), externally. These fighters are carried in vast quantities (20 8-fighter-bomber squadrons) along with an additional defensive flight of conventional squadrons (10 12-fighter squadrons) in a dedicated carrier named the Phalanx. This carrier is huge (3km in length) and is actually classed as a heavy battleship or light dreadnought, and carries over 400 fighters and 200 small craft, including 50 corvettes. The Sarza are less advanced (albeit not by much) than Terran standard, and still use a swarm-tactic of fighters launched from a dedicated assault carrier. These light, fast ships only carry a few squadrons each, but they are hard to hit and travel with escorts. The Namaran are the least advanced of the space-faring races, but they can achieve impressive victories with their fighters. As a result, they have developed a fast-attack carrier to bring those fighters to the fore and deploy them.
