I'd say it's inspired by the early Kilrathi fighters (you might've heard of a game called Wing Commander. Without any numbers or subtitles). But I'm pretty sure that this fighter is a lot harder to deal with. It has turrets on the back!

yeah, you could chase down those right turning cats all day long, but a tail gun makes chasing a bad ideal... I haven't really thought about wing commander since highschool. That was a fun game...

actually, they are tilted back and sweep up, and are canted bsck so its like a layed back V, so at this angle the left and right will look different. but head on its an like a shallow and wide upside down V...
