The HE-2600 Shrike fighter-bomber is Heinkel Aerospace’s most successful mercenary fighter craft. It is, for all intents and purposes, a missile-filled flying block of armor with a cockpit and engines. Designed to swoop in at high speeds, deploy its payload, and bank to avoid the resulting cataclysm of detonations. The Shrike carries eighty Falcon IV SRMs, and has magnetic hardpoints along the hull and wings to carry up to 16 SSMs.
Secondary weapons are an interesting mix, two powerful APPCs, an underbelly AP lancer ball turret, and two FragMaster disruptor cannons mounted in the twin bow. The disruptor cannons are often used first to fry enemy shields and ECM, followed up quickly by a volley of particle projection fire and missiles. The AP lancer turret is designed to double as an anti-missile system and to discourage pursuers.
The Shrike has a thick sheath of atomically-bonded carbon-turine interwover battleplate with a double layer of deflector shielding, both for defense and to protect the Shrike from the detonation of its own large-scale ordnance. Potent ECM and ECCM round out the defensive capabilities of the Shrike, giving it an edge over smaller fighters.
