The NAU's principal battlesuit- an advanced form of flight-capable heavy powered armour- the Patton is one of the most widely sold battlesuits in existence. The North American Union sells these suits to nearly a dozen other nations- though they refuse to sell them to Freespace systems or private sector mercenary firms- as well as fielding them in their own arsenals.
Unlike most battlesuits, the Patton does not have any missile launchers built into it. While it can carry man-portable missile launchers, and attach a scissor-rack of SRMs onto its back between the gravitic thrusters via maglock, the only onboard weapon systems are directed energy. The chest-mounted AP lancer and forearm-mounted PPCs give the Patton decidedly potent punch, but its primary armament is hand-held heavy weapons of a variety of types according to mission. Most common is the PPC-40, the NAU's primary crew-served heavy weapon, however SpecOps units utilizing Patton battlesuits will often use their own personal choice of heavy weapons.
Like all battlesuits, the gravitic thrusters of the Patton allow it virtually unrestricted flight. It is capable of transiting from surface-to-orbit, however at a top speed of mach 1.3 it is simply quicker to use shuttles and dropships. In urban warfare, the Patton will skim along the ground at low altitudes- usually just a few meters- and use its high speed and maneuverability to avoid being hit. In boarding operations, Pattons are often used to secure airlocks or sabotage weapon systems and shield generators, and possess suit-wide magnetic grapling capability to adhere to a target's hull.
