HCSW-33 "Paladin" by Jepray HCSW-33 "Paladin" by Jepray
HCSW-33 "Paladin", a heavy support walker/light assault walker. made by a former Merc outfit, who found it more profitable to make war machines instead of participating in it. These are used in a security role on select planets, but can be used as a front line mech as its weapons lay out is heavy enough to dish out quite a bit of damage and its armor and shields are more than up to the job for prolong engagements...

Reminds me of a Warhammer

Yeah, the arms are kinda following the same sort of look, locked in that kinda forward firing position. :D

Its better to live for the Emperor, um sorry, its a mech not a titan/dreadnought.

Great job with this.

Fascinating design. I especially like how the feet and central torso looks.
Also, the word Paladin really fits here.

Very reminiscent of a Mad Cat.

And thus, it is awesome.

I like the use of traditional media, it looks more classic !!!

Thanks, It can be harder at times, but i think it allows more freedom in design, short of a wacom tablet...and i dont have one of those, so free hand it is for me... makes u think more about shadows and volume... it is classic...

nice load out - the white openings on the chest area are they spotlights or short range lasers?

those are PPC type weapons buried in the torso

nice.. (admittedly i go by battletech and RIFTS reference points, particle projection usually needs larger mounts and a load more cooling systems)

thats why i buried it in the torso...it runs through to the back where the cooling system is safe from enemy fire...

now thats clever ;)

what about the arms? Kinetic Rail guns? or a pair of pulse lasers?

or possibly (my favourite) a high frequency pulse laser over and ion cannon under..

As per El Jeffe's request-

From top to bottom-
* Two 12-racks of long-ranged missiles sporting variable-yield antimatter warheads with containment fields to focus the blast.

* Four heavy PPCs in the chest to make life a living hell for any targets in their LOS.

* An AP lancer emitter under the cockpit (anti-proton version of a particle beam weapon, fires a beam of charged antimatter particles) for assault, anti-missile, and anti-personnel use.

* Arms each sport one APPC (anti-proton version of a particle projection cannon, which fires dense self-contained bolts of charged particles- antimatter particles in this case- and accelerates them using a gravitic accelerator coil in the barrel, similar to- though far more advanced than- the concept behind a Gauss weapon/railgun, but shooting energy bolts instead of projectiles) in the top barrel, and heavy AP lancers in the bottom barrels.

* Two 6-racks of short-ranged missiles sporting similar warheads to the LRMs.

* Legs each sport another AP lancer emitter in each calf, as well as anti-personnel hunter-killer or scout/recon drone launchers (the slots, four per side, on the lower legs).

Armour is 6" to 36" thick atomically-bonded metalic hydrogen/carbon interweave battleplate with structural tenser field reinforcements and nanite auto-repair systems. Damaged armour is repaired by the nanites by simply parking it in an area with raw materials (dirt, rocks, etc. are the usual) which the nanites disassemble and re-assemble as armour components to repair the damaged sections.

Primary shield emitter is central, underneath the cockpit and behind the AP lancer turret, but there are secondary shield emitters on each arm, in the back, and on each leg. Hard to see as they are integrated into the armour, but they add a back-up layer of deflector shielding should the primaries fail.

Cockpit is ejectable, and has a combination of AG field emitters and pulsed gravitic microthrusters that allow it to achieve orbit from the ground, with an acceleration of .5 AU/hour if the ejection is in space, allowing for a maximum relativistic speed of .2 C (though it takes for-effing-ever to get to that speed).

Other equipment includes- ECM and ECCM systems, electron arrestor defense fields (prevents disruptors from frying out core electronics, disruptors being the 24th century equivalent of EMP weapons, using electron arrestor fields and photon attractors to scrambled zero-point data transmission, fiberoptics, and conventional electrical currents). The walker has an onboard AI that acts as a combination of navigator and back-up gunner if multiple targets are engaged, and can link to the Omninet to allow the pilot instant access to any data contained there or on dedicated servers of the company. Command is neural interface via NeuralLink implant, with hard-stick back-up controls. NeuralLink allows the pilot to merge with the walker, and it becomes like his or her body. Movement is instinctual, and weapons command is via a HUD in the pilot's vision with neural fire control.

Unlike Battletech mechs, Dark Nova walkers (with the notable exception of the Arbalest) are very, very fast, agile, and not slow, ponderous machines. Though most use inverse knee joins for greater speed, some use anthropomorphic (human-like) structure for dedicated roles. In this case, this walker is custom-built by Professional Military Solutions Corporation (PMSC), a mercenary corporation based out the Peregrine system that uses it for militia, law enforcement, and infantry support roles. As a result, it sees a lot of urban theater combat, necessitating a narrower build. Despite it's substantial firepower, it is classed as a support walker, and is only 28' tall from the ground the top of the missile racks, making it only 50% bigger than heavy powered armour used by conventional armoured infantry. While it can't do room clearing and building entry (which is the role of standard infantry and light powered armour armoured infantry), it can follow it's infantry squad just about anywhere they go. In space, their role is boarding support or counter-boarding for stations, acting as mobile weapon platforms on the station's surface and inside hanger bays and large cargo bays. While not a primary role (nor an overly survivable one, since most naval weapons would erase a battlewalker in a single shot), it adds to the punch and is quite effective against fighters and boarding craft.

Need more info? :D

well the tech base is different in the Dark Nova world that this mecha exist in...Breandan knows more about weapons lay out for these things, i just build them to spec... but its all energy weapons of some sort...
