Unlike the newer Ogre powered armour, the Grendel was designed to provide a heavily-armoured platform for urban warfare in broader, more open environments. Standing fully twelve feet tall, the suit- while slender in build compared to many HPA competitors- still has difficulty negotiating close terrain in CQB operations. Room clearing inside a house is right out. As a result, the Grendel has waned in popularity for urban warfare, but grown as a low-cost alternative to battlesuits and battlewalkers for garrisons, mercenary troops, and Freespace militias. The onboard weapons consists of the same chest-mounted PPR as the Ogre, and a shoulder-mounted micro-missile launcher carrying two shots, each one being specialized missiles with a small antimatter warhead. Conudyne is the primary producer for these missiles- attempting to corner the market share of them- but many Freespace developers have produced knock-offs of varying quality and price. The Conudyne missiles cost 22,500cr each, while the knockoffs cost 10,000+(2d4x1000)cr, and have a 1d10% chance of having a guidance system malfunction, corkscrewing off in a random direction.
this is an cool one too, but i like the "Conudyne Ogre Powered Armour", it doesn't look agile like the Grendel. but it surely look more heavy armoured than Grendel and fits for urban wars. Both head designs are cool. the torso is in my oppinion fine and not too long.
it is alittle longish, but the pilot sits in there, so i needed room for him and armor... figure pilots feet are behind backup camera and head and shoulders between shoulders, needed space for armor and systems...
right now its all traditional pencil sketch, inking and then marker work over the ink with some white prisma color pencil and Veritin for highlight and white paint pen. toss on my canon scanner bed, crop and upload
have you tried using a heavier weight line for some of the lineweights? mainly on the undersides of objects? Your line work is really cool as it is, but it might just help pop some of the forms out a little.
Have you studied anything to draw like this? Industrial design perhaps?
yes i have taken a few product design and trans design classes at Art center and PCC where some Art center teachers also teach on the side i know about using line weights to add weight to the piece, thou lately i have been simply rendering tons of spaceships and haven't gotten it all out of my system yet. will have to add more weight to my mecha designs... I should be using chalks and pastels and such but in lieu of needing to be very portable so i can draw at work and stuff, i have not used it or my cans of fixit... i will have to bump up back to my old skill level and brush off more of this rust from lack of drawing...

I like the colors and armament though. Good for a mech of its size.

do you do much digital work?
